For those individuals categorized as High Risk, an additional method of supervision would be through the use of Passive GPS technology.  This level of monitoring is more suited for those individuals with either unstable work and residence histories or whose work requires them to be at various locations within the community such as making deliveries, service calls or construction related occupations.  Their violations include offenses either with or without a victim and pose a greater degree of risk to the community where a detailed record of movement is desired.  With this level, the individual’s daily movements are recorded and downloaded at night thereby giving a detailed record of the day’s activities which can then be viewed to ensure that the compliance with any special stipulations is achieved.  As with the previous unit, this device also utilizes a phone connection, transmitter and base unit as well as a GPS tracking device to record daily movements.
