Inclement Weather
Storm or Weather Event: In the event of a storm or weather related event, based on the type, scope and severity of the event, monitoring personnel shall decide as to the response. Prior to and in anticipation of a forecasted event, the following additional protocols shall be implemented:
1. Forty-eight (48) hours prior to the arrival of the event, participants are to contact the office and schedule to go to the grocery store, as allowed, to obtain food, gas, kerosene and any other supplies needed to get them through the anticipated period of the event.
2. Twenty-Four (24) hours before the arrival of the event, participants are to fully charge their monitoring devices for 2 ½ hours in the event of a power outage.
3. Upon the commencement of the event, participants are to remain in their residences until the event is over. If a LIFE THREATENING, not simply an inconvenience, situation develops, participants may contact monitoring personnel regarding moving to safety. Otherwise, participants should refrain from frivolous calls during the event so as to allow personnel to deal with true emergency situations.
4. Should the situation deteriorate into an extended crisis event, participants should then call personnel and receive instructions as to how to proceed before leaving their residences.
